Louise Lissoway was born in the Province of Quebec in 1947. Her family moved to a farm in Jean-Cote, Alberta as pioneer homesteaders in 1948. She is the thirteenth of sixteen children. She grew up on that farm and went on to marry and raise her own family, which involved several moves between British Columbia and Alberta. The family moved to Grande Prairie in 2001. Louise is a self-taught artist, participating in occasional workshops. Her works include acrylics, watercolors, oils and pastels. Private collectors commissioned many of her paintings. Some of her achievements include designing the City of Grande Prairie flag and participating in the utility box beautification program.
