Collection: Lisa Ramer

Lisa Ramer is an acrylic painter from Northern Alberta, residing in the Peace Region for over twenty years. Lisa has a lifelong love of physical movement in the outdoors and has explored wilderness landscapes through hiking, skiing, climbing, biking and running. Adventuring is a passion that has become a voice in her painting. She desires to bring the beauty of the created world to those who may need a reminder of its astounding ability to be majestic, serene, wild, stunning, breath taking and dramatically amazing.

Lisa joined Acrylic University in January 2021 to further her studies. Through the mentorship of Jed Dorsey, Dianna Shyne and Aimee Erickson, along with many others, she is figuring out her own artistic voice. She intends to continue the path of exploration, both outdoors and in her studio. Lisa mostly paints inside her home studio but began exploring the unpredictable world of plein-air painting in 2021. She is drawn to quickly giving the landscape visual expression through paint while hearing the wind, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin, and fighting off the nasty wasps! Painting in the outdoors can be extremely challenging and it is that challenge which appeals to Lisa’s love of adventure.

Lisa longs to bring this love of nature to those who view her art. Can you see what she felt as she soaked in the warmth of the sun while painting a mountain? Can you sense how small she felt against the grandeur? Can you feel the wind whipping the clouds into crazy shapes? Lisa longs to share a message of hope that in the end all will be well.
